This blood clot plays a crucial role, as it protects the underlying bone and nerve endings. Without it, the healing process is significantly hindered, leading to a painful condition known as a dry socket.

Unfortunately, coffee can interfere with the formation and maintenance of this blood clot. The caffeine in coffee can increase blood pressure and heart rate, potentially dislodging the clot.
